Get started with the PC software

Bascom's PC software allows remote access to the CCTV system, so you can monitor live video feeds, review recorded footage, and manage settings right from your Windows or Mac device. In this article, we’ll guide you through connecting the CCTV system to the internet, installing the Bascom software, and linking it to the CCTV system.

Step 1: connect the recorder to the internet

To use the Bascom software, your CCTV system needs an active internet connection. Use the included network cable to connect the recorder to your router.

• On the recorder: connect cable to the Internet or WAN port.
• On your router: connect the other end to a LAN port.

Step 2: download and install the software

Download the Bascom software for your operating system:

Unzip the software and install it following your computer’s instructions. Note for macOS Users: if installation is blocked, follow Apple’s instructions to allow installation.

Step 3: set up the software

Launch the Bascom software and enter the following information to login:

• Device ID: found below the QR code on the left side of your recorder (starts with “BSC”).
• Port: 80.
• Username: the same username as your recorder (default: admin).
• Password: the same password as your recorder (default: admin).

If you’re logging in with the default username and password for the first time, we strongly recommend changing your password for better security.
