Set up push notifications in the app

After installing the Bascom smartphone app, you can enable push notifications to receive real-time alerts directly on your phone for various events, like detected movement. Push notifications pop up on your screen, similar to a text message, allowing you to quickly check what’s happening. Tapping the notification within one minute takes you to the live view, while tapping it after one minute directs you to the recorded footage.

Enable push notifications

You can enable push notifications directly in the Bascom app:

  1. Tap the menu icon  .
  2. Go to Notifications
  3. In the top-right corner, tap the settings icon  .
  4. Tap the toggle for the recorder you want to enable notifications on.
  5. Tap the settings icon   that now appears to fine-tune your preferences:
    • Set an interval time to control notification frequency.
    • Choose the events for which you want to receive notifications. For PRO or PLUS cameras, we recommend enabling only Human and Vehicle events and disabling Motion Detection.

Create a schedule

If you only want to receive push notifications at specific times, you can create a custom schedule for each camera to control when notifications are active. This also allows you to disable notifications for certain cameras by setting no active times.

Use the recorder (with a monitor and mouse)
  1. Move your cursor to the bottom edge of the screen to reveal the menu bar.
  2. In the bottom-left corner, click the menu icon  .
  3. Click Settings and unlock the recorder if prompted.
  4. Go to Alarm > Alarm Schedule.
  5. From the Cameras dropdown, select a camera.
  6. Ensure the Push option is selected.
  7. Click or click-and-drag on the calendar to add or remove the green highlight. Green indicates when notifications will be active.
  8. Optionally, use the Copy option to quickly duplicate a schedule to other channels.
  9. Click Apply to save your changes.

Use the PC software
  1. At the top of the application window, click the recorder settings icon  .
  2. Go to Alarm > Alarm Schedule.
  3. From the Channel dropdown, select a camera.
  4. Ensure the Push option is selected.
  5. Click or click-and-drag on the calendar to add or remove the green highlight. Green indicates when notifications will be active.
  6. Optionally, use the Copy option to quickly duplicate a schedule to other channels.
  7. Click the Save button.

Use the smartphone app
  1. Tap the menu icon  .
  2. Go to Recorder settings and select your recorder.
  3. Follow the instructions below, depending on the layout your menu matches:

  1. Go to Alarm Push Schedule.
  2. In the top-right corner, tap Setting.
  3. From the Channel dropdown, select a camera.
  4. From the Day dropdown, select a day.
  5. From the Type dropdown, select “Push”.
  6. The default schedule is from 00:00 to 24:00. Tap the delete icon   to remove.
  7. To add a new schedule, tap the add icon  .
  8. Repeat for each camera/day combination. Optionally, use the Copy button to quickly duplicate channel or day schedules to other channels and days.

  9. In the top-right corner, tap Save.
