Restart a camera

In some cases, a Bascom support representative may ask you to restart a camera (also known as 'rebooting'). This article guides you through the steps to do this safely.

Use the recorder (with a monitor and mouse)
  1. Move your cursor to the bottom edge of the screen to reveal the menu bar.
  2. In the bottom-left corner, click the menu icon  .
  3. Click Settings and unlock the recorder if prompted. 
  4. Go to System > Camera Maintenance > Reboot IPC.
  5. Select the camera you want to restart.
  6. Click Reboot IPC.
  7. Authenticate with your password when prompted.
  8. The camera will now restart. This can take several minutes.
Use the PC software
  1. At the top of the application window, click the recorder settings icon  .
  2. Go to System > IP Camera Maintain > Reboot IPC.
  3. Select the camera you want to restart.
  4. Click IPC Reboot.
  5. Authenticate with your password when prompted.
  6. The camera will now restart. This can take several minutes.
