Operate zoom and focus

Bascom PRO and PLUS cameras feature a varifocal lens, allowing you to zoom in and out. Unlike digital zoom, a varifocal lens provides true optical zoom, enabling you to capture finer details or expand to a wider perspective. The camera refocuses automatically after zooming, but you can also adjust the focus manually if needed.

Use the recorder (with a monitor and mouse)
  1. In the main view, click the feed of the camera you want to operate.

  2. In the controls pop-up, click the lens control icon   and unlock the recorder if prompted.

  3. Adjust the settings as needed:
    • The Step dropdown controls how fast the camera zooms.
    • To zoom in or out, click and hold the   or   button next to Zoom (the camera will refocus automatically when you release the button).
    • To manually shift the focus, click and hold the   or   button next to Focus.
    • Auto Focus and Restore will adjust the focus automatically.
