Play back and download footage

You can download footage directly from your recorder to a USB drive, smartphone, or computer as a backup. This ensures that important recordings are securely stored and easily accessible whenever you need them.

Use the recorder (with a monitor and mouse)
  1. Move your cursor to the bottom edge of the screen to reveal the menu bar.
  2. In the bottom-left corner, click the menu icon  .
  3. Click Search and unlock the recorder if prompted. 
  4. To locate and select the footage:
    1. On the left, select the date and cameras you want to view.
    2. At the bottom, click the play icon   to load the footage, then click on the timeline to locate the part you want to play or back up.playhead-min.jpg
    3. Click the scissors icon   to start the selection process. A section of the timeline will be highlighted, marking the footage selected for download.highlight-min.jpg
    4. Drag the triangle markers to adjust the start and end points of the selection.select-min.jpg
  5. To download the footage to your USB drive:
    1. Plug an empty USB drive into the front or back port of the recorder.
    2. Click the save icon  .
    3. In the dialogue box, change the backup type to MP4 (the most widely supported file format) and click Save.
    4. Select your USB drive from the list and click OK to start the download.
Use the PC software
  1. At the top of the application window, click the playback icon  .
  2. On the left, select the date and cameras you want to view, then click Search.
  3. Click on the timeline to locate the part you want to back up.pc-playhead-min.jpg
  4. Click the scissors icon   to start the selection process. A section of the timeline will be highlighted, marking the footage selected for download.pc-highlight-min.jpg
  5. Drag the triangle markers to adjust the start and end points of the selection.pc-select-min.jpg
  6. Click the save icon  .
  7. In the dialogue box, click the select icon   to select a save location.
  8. Click Download to save the video to your computer.
Use the smartphone App

To locate and save the footage

  1. From the main view, tap the playback icon  .
  2. Double-tap the camera feed you want to back up.
  3. Tap the date to change it, if needed.
  4. Scroll along the timeline to the starting point of the section you want to back up, then tap the record icon   to start saving the footage. The icon will turn blue to indicate it is recording.
  5. When you reach the end of the section, tap the record icon   again to stop recording.

The recorded footage is saved within the app. To download it to your phone's camera roll:

  1. Go back to the main view and tap the menu icon  .
  2. Go to Files.
  3. Tap the select icon   for each video file you want to download.
  4. Tap the download icon   to download the selected files to your camera roll.
