Mount standard dome cameras

In this article, we’ll guide you through securely mounting a dome camera on a wall or ceiling and adjusting it to the desired angle. These instructions apply specifically to the standard Bascom dome camera; for PRO and PLUS dome cameras, please refer to this article.

Step 1: disassemble the camera

Keep the protective foil on the lens to prevent fingerprints during installation. Rotate the outer ring with the Bascom logo counterclockwise to remove it. Once removed, you can disassemble the remaining parts.

Step 2: prepare the wall

Select the appropriate hardware based on the surface material. We’ve included universal wall plugs and screws (PH2) suitable for most standard applications. If you’re using your own screws, ensure they have a 4 mm diameter.

Use the mounting template to mark the drill spots, then:

  • For the wall plugs, drill a 6 mm hole.
  • For cable routing through the wall: drill a 20 mm hole.

Step 3: mount the camera base

If mounting the camera outdoors, use the waterproof connector to protect the connection from weather exposure.

Route the cable through the wall or along the surface. Align the camera base with the pre-marked spots, then secure it with the screws.

Step 4: assemble and point the camera

It's easier to point the camera if you can see its live view. Connect the camera beforehand, and use the smartphone app to adjust and align it perfectly.

Reassemble the camera in the reverse order of disassembly. Ensure the camera is pointed in the correct direction before tightening the outer ring.

Step 5: remove the protective foil

Finally, remove the protective foil, taking care not to touch the lens to keep it clean.
