Mount PTZ Camera
The Bascom PTZ camera (BSM-PTZ-L-AB) comes with a wall mount for installation on a flat wall. To hang the camera from a ceiling, use the ceiling bracket (BSM-PTZ-CBCK) instead, which is sold separately. Part 1 describes the wall mount, part 2 the ceiling bracket.
Warning: Ensure that the wall or ceiling is thick and strong enough to withstand more than 8 times the combined weight of the PTZ camera and its bracket.
Part 1: Mounting the camera with the wall mount
What you need
- Bascom PTZ camera (BSM-PTZ-L-AB) with its wall mount, drill template, 4 expansion bolts and waterproof cable connector (all in the camera box)
- Drill, hammer, wrench and a hex key for the M6 screws
- Spirit level
- A ladder or work platform
Step 1: Mark and drill the holes
- Stick the drill template to the wall at the chosen height.
- Check with a spirit level that the template is straight.
- Drill the 4 holes at the marks on the template.
- If the network cable comes out of the wall behind the wall mount, drill the cable hole at the circle in the middle of the template.
- Remove the template.
Step 2: Insert the expansion bolts
- Clean the dust out of the holes.
- Hammer an expansion bolt into each of the 4 holes.
- Take the nut, spring washer and washer off each bolt.
Step 3: Fix the wall mount
- Pull the network cable through the wall mount.
- Place the wall mount over the 4 bolts.
- Fit a washer and a spring washer on each bolt.
- Tighten the 4 nuts.
Check with a spirit level that the wall mount is straight before you tighten the nuts fully.
Step 4: Attach the safety rope

- Hook the safety rope of the camera into the rope loop under the wall mount.
The safety rope holds the camera if it slips while you connect it.

Step 7: Check the installation
- The wall mount does not move when you push on the camera.
- The camera hangs straight.
- The camera can pan and tilt through its full range without pulling on the cable.
Part 2: Mounting the camera with the ceiling bracket
The ceiling bracket (BSM-PTZ-CBCK) hangs the PTZ camera from a ceiling. It replaces the wall mount and comes with 4 expansion bolts.

Do this step only when the network cable runs along the ceiling surface. Skip it when the cable comes out of the ceiling above the bracket.
- Find the cut-out on the edge of the ceiling plate.
- Break the cut-out out with pliers.
- Remove sharp edges so they do not damage the cable.
Step 2: Mark the drill holes
- Hold the bracket against the ceiling at the chosen position.
- Mark the 4 holes of the ceiling plate with a pencil.
Step 3: Drill the holes and insert the expansion bolts
- Drill the 4 holes at the marks.
- Clean the dust out of the holes.
- Hammer an expansion bolt into each hole.
- Take the nut, spring washer and washer off each bolt.
Step 4: Fix the ceiling bracket
- Pull the network cable down through the tube of the bracket. If you opened the cut-out, lead the cable in through it.
- Push the bracket up over the 4 bolts.
- Fit a washer and a spring washer on each bolt.
- Tighten the 4 nuts.
Step 5: Hang the camera
- Connect the network cable to the camera's cable. Use the waterproof cable connector outdoors.
- Push the cables up into the tube.
- Align the notch on the adapter cover of the camera with the rivet on the bracket.
