Mount bullet cameras
In this article, we’ll guide you through securely mounting a bullet camera on a wall or ceiling and adjusting it to the desired angle. These instructions apply to all Bascom bullet camera models, as they share the same bracket, even though the images feature our PB30 model.
Step 1: prepare the wall
Select the appropriate hardware based on the surface material. We've included universal wall plugs and screws (PH2, Ø 4 mm) to fit most standard applications. Use the mounting template to mark the drill spots, then:
- For the wall plugs, drill a 6 mm hole.
- For cable routing through the wall:
- Drill a 12 mm hole when using the included, prefabricated cable.
- Drill a 6 mm hole if you are creating the cable yourself.
Step 2: mount the camera
If mounting the camera outdoors, use the waterproof connector to protect the connection from weather exposure.
Keep the protective foil on the lens to prevent fingerprints during installation. Use the included Allen key to loosen the three Allen bolts on the bracket, making it easier to access the screw holes. Route the cable through the wall or along the surface, align the camera base with the pre-marked spots, then secure it with the screws.
Step 3: point the camera
It's easier to point the camera if you can see its live view. Connect the camera beforehand, and use the smartphone app to adjust and align it perfectly.
Follow the steps below to adjust the camera's position. Once aligned, tighten the Allen bolts to secure it in place. The camera's zoom is operated remotely via the recorder, smartphone app, or PC software.
- Directional adjustment: rotate the direction in which the second adjustment can move.
- Angle adjustment: “bend” the camera within the chosen direction.
- Horizon levelling: ensure the horizon is level.
