Mount PRO and PLUS dome cameras with a wall bracket
In this article, we’ll guide you through securely mounting and adjusting the PRO or PLUS dome camera on the wall or ceiling and adjusting it to the desired angle. The process is the same for both models, even though the images feature our XD50 model. We recommend performing the installation on a dry day to prevent moisture from entering the camera.
Step 1: mark the holes
Use the bracket as a template to mark the drill points with a pencil. The hole for the cable can be positioned anywhere within the bracket’s central area.
Step 2: drill the holes
Select the appropriate hardware based on the surface material. We’ve included universal wall plugs and screws (PH2) suitable for most standard applications. If you’re using your own screws, ensure they have a 4 mm diameter.
- For the wall plugs, drill a 6 mm hole.
- For cable routing through the wall:
-
- Drill a 12 mm hole when using the included, prefabricated cable.
- Drill a 6 mm hole if you are creating the cable yourself.
Step 3: mount the wall bracket
Use the screws to secure the bracket to the wall. In the images above and below, we’re working with a cable that has not yet been fitted with its connector.
Step 4: remove the camera cover
Keep the protective foil on the cover to avoid fingerprints during installation. Use the provided Torx key (T20) to loosen the three bolts on top of the camera, then remove the cover. Do not detach the security latch connecting the cover to the base.
Step 5: make the camera waterproof
To prevent water from dripping in, use the included seal to cover the port intended for surface-mounted cable routing.
Step 6: attach the camera base
If mounting the camera outdoors, use the waterproof connector to protect the connection from weather exposure.
Connect and route the cable through the bracket. Align the camera base with the bracket, ensuring the rubber seal between them is properly seated and not folded or misaligned. Secure the camera with the small bolts included with the bracket.
Step 7: point the camera
It's easier to point the camera if you can see its live view. Connect the camera beforehand, and use the smartphone app to adjust and align it perfectly.
Follow the steps below to adjust the camera's position. The camera's zoom is operated remotely via the recorder, smartphone app, or PC software.
- Directional adjustment: rotate the base to set the direction the lens faces.
- Angle adjustment: tilt or “bend” the lens within the chosen direction.
- Horizon levelling: align the horizon to ensure its level.
Step 8: reattach the cover
Align the cover with the markings and securely tighten the Torx screws to ensure a watertight seal.
Step 9: remove the protective foil
Finally, remove the protective foil, taking care not to touch the cover to keep it clean.
