Mount PTZ Corner Bracket
The PTZ corner bracket (BSM-PTZ-CRBCK) lets you install a Bascom PTZ camera on an external building corner. This gives the camera a wide view along both walls. The bracket is sold separately from the camera and comes with all the screws and wall plugs you need.
Warning: Ensure that the wall is thick and strong enough to withstand more than 8 times the combined weight of the PTZ camera, wall mount and corner bracket.
What you need
- PTZ corner bracket BSM-PTZ-CRBCK (sold separately; includes all screws and wall plugs)
- Bascom PTZ camera with its wall mount arm (supplied with the camera, not with the bracket)
- Drill, spirit level, pencil, screwdriver or wrench
- A ladder or work platform
Step 1: Attach the PTZ wall mount bracket to the bracket
- Find the 4 holes marked 1 on the center plate of the bracket.
- Line up the wall mount with these holes and fix it with the 4 screws.
- Tighten the screws firmly.
Do this on the ground. The screws are hard to reach once the bracket is on the wall.
Step 2: Mark the drill holes
- Hold the bracket against the corner at the chosen height, with both wings flat on the walls.
- Check with a spirit level that the bracket is straight.
- Mark all 8 drill holes: 4 in each wing.
Step 3: Drill the holes and insert the wall plugs
- Drill the 8 holes at the marks.
- Clean out the dust and push a wall plug into each hole until it is flush with the wall.
Step 4: Route the cables and fix the bracket
Pull the network cable through the oval opening in the bracket and through the wall mount.
- Place the bracket over the wall plugs and screw it to both walls with all 8 screws.
- Check that the bracket does not move.
Step 5: Mount the camera
- Connect the network cable to the camera's cable. Use the waterproof cable connector outdoors.
- Lift the camera into the wall mount and secure it as described in the PTZ installation manual (PDF).
- Tighten the locking screws.
Step 6: Check the installation
- The bracket and wall mount do not move when you push on the camera.
- The camera hangs straight.
- The camera can pan and tilt through its full range without pulling on the cable.
